The Mini Arts and Sports club Mattanur was established in 1983 and is a vibrant arts and sports
club dedicated to fostering creativity, fitness, and community spirit within our Mattanur
municipality.

Initially established as a football club, it serves a diverse population and offers a
platform for individuals of all ages to explore their talents, develop skills, and build lasting
connections
.

The club hosts a variety of cultural programs, art exhibitions, and workshops to
celebrate local talent and promote artistic expression.
On the sports front, our facilities and events encourage active lifestyles, teamwork, and healthy competition. By organizing tournaments, fitness sessions, and recreational activities, we aim to inspire a sense of
camaraderie and well-being.

With a commitment to inclusivity and growth, we envision a thriving community enriched by the power of arts and sports. In early 2000, a lifesaving (“jheeva karunya”) unit was created under Mini club to help the
community for medical related services, especially transporting patients to the hospital, helping the under privileged patients with financial help and building a strong bonds among the
community.

Amma Pain and Palliative care, established in the early 2013 is an initiative and whole subsidy of Mini Arts and Sports club Mattanur. In Malayalam, the word “Amma” (അമ്മ) means mother. It is a term of respect, love, and endearment used to address one’s mother. Currently Amma is caring more than 500 patients on a regular basis and more than 500+ families on a need basis.

While the “jheeva karunya” social services continued from 2000 by helping many under privileged people in Mattanur municipality and generally across Kannur district, in 2013, the club members, doctors and many prominent figures from Mattanur municipality came together and discussed about the long-term vision of expanding the work of this “jheeva karunya” unit to serve more needy people and providing more services that we currently offer. The following points were discussed during the expansion of this “jheeva karunya” unit to form the Amma Pain and Palliative care.
